good conditions for water skiing, wake boarding, wake skating, tubing,
jet skiing, fishing or just lounging along the beaches:

Lake
Bass
Lake is a 3,376-foot elevation lake, owned and operated by PG&E. If
you don't own your own boat, rentals are available at all three resorts
located on Bass Lake. Lodging, dining, shopping, markets and more are also
available. Water skiers and wake boarders will enjoy the 80 degrees water.
The tall Pines provide great shade on those hot days.
On the Forth of July, Bass
Lake is THE place to be. The water is warm, spirits are high and the firework
display is always breathtaking.
Bass Lake is just 8 miles
from Oakhurst. Just travel north of town on 41 and turn right at the Bass
Lake Turnoff - Road 222. You can't miss it! There is a boat launch ramp
located near the damn and another can be found at the Pines Resort on the
other side of the lake.
Make sure you register your
boat with the Sheriffs Tower located on the island in the middle of the

Hensley Lake
On the Fresno River near
Madera, Hensley Lake is an easily accessed 1,600-surface acre foothill
reservoir operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. You'll find camping
sites, day use areas for picnicking and boat launching ramps.
Hensley Lake is located approx.
20 miles NE of the city of Madera. From Fresno take hwy. 99 North past
the city of Madera to Ave. 20 1 East. This turns into Ave. 21, continue
East. Turns into Raymond Rd. (Road 600) go NE approx. 6 miles to Daulton
Rd. (Road 603) turn right to the lake. You will see signs to guide you
along the way. |
