Come out this Saturday and celebrate Life, Family, Friends, and Community.

The event is free, there will be raffle tickets for sale, and donations will be accepted. Bring a potluck dish if you can.

Nic's journey of recovery is so inspirational, come watch the video created by the Centre for Neuro Skills (CNS) where he was a resident for 4 months. His progress is amazing and you will shed a tear.

The family will continue to have expenses related to therapy and follow up treatment for the foreseeable future. This is a potluck, party, and fundraiser all rolled into one.

Bring your kids, there will be kickball, a few Piñata’s, and plenty of time to just run on the grass. As a suggestion, so they can participate in the fundraiser, have them gather some change to drop in a donation bottle, it will add up, every bit helps.

If you cannot make it to party, but would like to donate, send it to Pak&Page, their address is in the event details.

Most importantly, hug your loved ones because you never know when life is going to get turned upside down.

NIC IS HOME!!! We would love for you to join us on May 27 from 2-5 pm at the Oakhurst Community Center for a welcome home party! This event is free for all with donations accepted and raffle tickets and drinks (soda and water) available for purchase. Watch for Oakhurst Spirits on the Fresno news...

Oakhurst just got its first craft distillery. Bourbon, rum and more are being made at Oakhurst Spirits. The owners moved from San Diego to Oakhurst to create the business which features a distillery, tasting room and art gallery. They open June 15. I'll show you inside the space on ABC30 Action News and tell you how they plan to work with other businesses like South Gate Brewing Company, Inc. & Idle Hour Winery. #oakhurst #oakhurstspirits

I moved to North Fork from Fresno about a year and a half ago. Yesterday I called 911 and was told I reached FresnoCounty but they would connect me to Madera County. While being transfers I was disconnected.

What number do I dial when I am I need of the Sherriff's Department? Was this a fluke or do we have 911 here?

Karen Denton311 is for NON emergency! Do not call 911 from your cell it goes to Fresno CHP. Call Sheriff directly. I have it on speed dial on my cell so I don't have to fumble around dialing the number.6 hours ago   ·  1

Jeana StewartI used my cell to place the call. From all your helpful comments I see now I need to call their number direct. I do not have a landline.5 hours ago   ·  1
Kelly BurnsWhen you call 911 from a cell phone it goes to the CHP dispatch for the area you are calling from, they will stay on the line and transfer your call to the appropriate agency, thats why it is very important you know where you are located.5 hours ago   ·  1
Mitzi MinierHi. I believe if you have the location set to "ON" your cell phone it goes thru correctly. I called for an emergency last month for a neighbor and had fire and ambulance at the door within five minutes. I live in Oakhurst, Goldside. They were awesome:)4 hours ago   ·  2
John Dian911 in general is a big funnel that gets filtered. Last time I called was from Gilroy and you get CHP from the closest county. Which idn if Madera has chp office or not. Then they transferred me to local fire and police4 hours ago
Mike RawlingsDid you call from cell phone? Is your prefix still Fresno area code.. may need to switch, I've had that problem first thing when I call is tell them I'm in Oakhurst2 hours ago
Steven Wade911 calls from a residence are automatically sent to the correct command center along with your address. 911 calls from a cell phone are directed to the CHP, because being mobile, there is no way to pinpoint your location.2 hours ago   ·  1

Tuesday I was on the corner of 426 & HWY 41 and you could here an Ambulance or some emergency vehicle ! ! ! Everyone at the intersection had stopped except for 1 car ! That 1 car had to make it through the intersection ! Then the Ambulance had to slow dow for them !
My point is simple, pull over, wait for the emergency vehicles to go by, they could be going to save a loved one or a friend , or put the fire out that is near your house ! ! !

Suzzette Fulton CochranOnce when I was quite young, I nearly got run over by a speeding paramedics vehicle because my music was so loud, I could not hear the siren - it nearly t-boned my car in an intersection in Fresno! I pulled over and shook for 10 minutes. That was 35 years ago. Keep your music low enough to hear sirens and honking horns! It could a ve your life, or someone else's!!10 hours ago   ·  4

Anneliese PeelleThe other day as i was coming down deadwood into Oakhurst I saw ambulance couple cars back. We all pulled over as far as we could, but southbound traffic did not stop. Ambulance got behind me, I moved down to a spot where I could get further off the road54 minutes ago

Toni PrioreDawnya she does deserve to get caught tried and if found guilty do the time. We have laws and ALL people need to follow them. Yes she is a sinner and she has broken one (or maybe more) Commandments and there is nothing wrong with you letting people know what she did so they can watch out for her and call the cops if they see her and also be aware so they too do not become a victim of hers. I'm so sorry your mother was duped by her. I doubt your mom will see her money which I am sure your mother did honest work to earn her money unlike the sinner who stole your mother's hard earned money. Yes BRANDY MOORE is a sinner as we all are but that doesn't mean she deserves to get away with breaking the law just because she is a sinner. Praying for her couldn't hurt and eventually forgiving her may help you. I'm wondering if Dave Jones would just say she is just a sinner if she stole that much money from him. Somehow I doubt it.18 hours ago   ·  1

Stacy IrwinTake chicken wire and line your garden about a foot down, this will keep them away from plant roots humanely... I have multiple garden patches each lined this way, keeps the gophers at bay....and if you bring the excess wire up about a foot it also keeps the rabbits at bay as well 2 for 13 days ago   ·  2
